Eleanor Parker

Eleanor Parker, born in 1922, was a talented and versatile actress known for her Oscar-nominated performances in films such as Caged (1950), Detective Story (1951), and Interrupted Melody (1955), but is perhaps best remembered for her role in The Sound of Music (1965). Despite her success, she retired prematurely and made infrequent appearances on TV before her death.
