Ellen Burstyn

Ellen Burstyn, born in Detroit, Michigan, to Correine Marie and John Austin Gillooly, worked various jobs before becoming an actress and gained recognition for her roles in "The Last Picture Show" and "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," winning an Oscar and BAFTA for the latter. She also won a Tony Award for "Same Time, Next Year" and has had success in TV movies and series. Additionally, she served as the first woman president of Actor's Equity.
