Humphrey Bogart

Humphrey Bogart, born in New York City to famous illustrator Maud Humphrey and surgeon Belmont Bogart, had a successful career in both stage and film, winning an Academy Award for The African Queen. He was known for his role in classics such as Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, and Key Largo, and was also active in political protests and formed his own production company. He died at his Hollywood home after battling throat cancer.
