Rachel Zegler

Rachel Zegler, raised in New Jersey by her American father and Colombian mother, is a singer/songwriter selected from 30,000 people to play Maria in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story (2021), opposite Ansel Elgort, after performing the role in a school production at Bergen Performing Arts Center; she gained popularity with her cover of Lady Gaga's "Shallow" from A Star Is Born (2018).
