Rutger Hauer

Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, known for his versatility in playing various roles, was raised by his actor parents and went through a rebellious phase during his childhood before pursuing a career in acting. He briefly worked on a freighter but was unable to pursue a career as a sailor due to being color-blind. After attending night school and dabbling in various professions, he found his passion in drama and went on to have a successful acting career, even convincing his superiors in the military that he was mentally unfit to continue serving.
