Tom Hanks

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks, born in Concord, California, had a fractured childhood and started his acting career after being unable to get cast in a college play. He went on to gain success in films such as "Splash," "Big," "Philadelphia," "Forrest Gump," and "Apollo 13," winning two Academy Awards for Best Actor. Hanks has also directed and remained active in the film industry for over four decades.
